Every day in zillions of ways, major-league sports, movies, television and advertising pump out rivers of stereotypical images of African-Americans and other racial and ethnic groups. It’s so pervasive and overwhelming that it’s easy to let it all wash over you and take it for granted.

This is manifestly not how artist Hank Willis Thomas regards the daily visual flow.
