Creative Quarterly Competition

We’re looking for the best art, advertising, design, illustration and photography done in the past six months. Professional or student. Judged by an editorial staff of award-winning graphic designers, a former judge for Communication Arts annual and represented in The Graphic Eye: Photographs by Graphic Designers from around the Globe, a judge for the Society of Illustrators, Print Regional Design Annual and regional and national advertising and design competitions. Recently named one of the top 100 art and design publications in the world, Creative Quarterly accepts professional and student entries from all parts of the globe.

Categories include advertising, graphic design, photography, illustration and fine art. Entry fees for Professionals are $30 per single entry, $55 per series—3 to 5 images for all published work, $20/$45; for recent graduates (from the last three years), $15/$45 and for current undergraduates or post graduate students, $10 per single entry, $20 for a series.

Winners will appear in the Spring issue of Creative Quarterly and be exhibited in our online gallery. Winners will also be entered in our year-end juried competitions where we’ll select the top 100 pieces for 2015.

Creative Quarterly 28: Call for Entries

CSU photo has had some success with Creative Quarterly in the past (link / link).

It’s time to get your own entries ready for the next Creative Quarterly judging.

$10 per entry

Open to all art directors, graphic designers, photographers, illustrators and fine artists in all countries. There are separate categories for professional and student entries.

Categories include Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration and Photography. CQ accepts both commissioned and personal work for judging. Winners will appear in the next issue of Creative Quarterly as well as an online Gallery. Runners-up will be featured only in the online Gallery.

Please consider this publication opportunity.  I counts towards Photo III’s exhibition requirements.  CSU photo students Meghan Fischer, Frances Killea have been published in Creative Quarterly (link); and Peter Jennings won the Bronze Award (link).  It’s especially nice that they list your school and your instructor (that’d be me).  Note the short deadline:

Only the very best work gets past them. And when we see winners from our show in other major shows we know we’re using the same yardstick. The only thing those other shows have on us is higher entry fees.

We accept published or unpublished work for a flat $10 per entry.

Eligibility

All art directors, graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and fine artists in all countries. Separate categories will be judged for professionals and students. Work must have been completed during the last six months.

Categories
Graphic Design—advertising design, books, branding, brochures, editorial, environmental, identity, packaging, posters and web.
Photography—both fine art and commercial.
Illustration—print and animation.
Fine Art—painting, drawing, printmaking, multi-media, pottery, sculpture.

If you’re a winner you’ll get great exposure in the next issue of Creative Quarterly due out in 2011 distributed in the US, Canada, UK, Europe and parts of Asia. And your work will be featured in our online gallery. Runner-up entries will also be shown in our online gallery.

Creative Quarterly: Then, Now and Future

The new issue of Creative Quarterly is out now.  CSU photo students Frances Killea and Meghan Fischer are published in the nationally distributed journal of art and design.  (See CSU photo’s previous post about this).  Previously, CSU photo’s Peter Jennings won the Bronze Award and had three photos published (see here).  Now, maybe, just maybe, it’s your turn.  Dig this:

Meghan Fisher and Frances Killea are winners in Creative Quarterly 20. Both will be published in the next issue of CQ in the fall of 2010.  They will also be published on CQ’s online gallery, along with us lowly runner-ups.

Exhibition Ops

The Center for Fine Art Photography‘s Consumption juried exhibition has extended its deadline to April 27.  This indicates that they need more entries.  Just sayin’…  See the original CSU Photo announcement.

Creative Quarterly: Call for Entries

Creative Quarterly is accepting entries for its annual call for entires.  CQ’s competition has a division for students working in photography.  In the past, we’ve had student success.  Most recently, Meghan Fischer was awarded a runner up in student photography.  Last year, Peter Jennings won the Bronze Award (see CSU photo announcement).

Entries are $10 each.  Winner’s work will be reproduced in the magazine and online.
