Celebrating analog photography in all its forms here in Cleveland

June 29th and 30th, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio.

3 Days of events, with an opening reception held at Aperture in Tremont on the 29th. Join in  some super-fun events, walks, networking, and experiments, so get your cameras ready, bags packed, and make your plans to head to the City by the Lake!

Friday
5pm – opening reception at Aperture
6pm – opening speeches by Scot Meivogel, Michael Raso from Film Photography Project, and our other partners.
7pm – itinerary and schedule review for the events on Saturday.
9pm – head back to your hotels/downtown for more socializing and sleep.

Saturday
7am – Aperture opens it’s doors for last minute camera and/or film purchases.
8:30am sharp – Meeting in grassy area in-between Jacob’s Field (Progressive Field) and Gund Arena (Quicken Loans Arena). Leaders introduced and you’ll be divided up into groups. Slide film and     envelopes will be handed out to those who want to participate in the XPro walk (later in the day). For only $11 you will be given a roll of Fuji Astia (courtesy of A&A Studios in Chicago), and a film mailer. Jake from Old School PhotoLab in New Hampshire will take your exposed film and envelopes, return to NH, and cross process your film. He’ll then mail it back to you. You can also purchase your film and envelope on Friday night/Saturday morning at Aperture.
8:50am – Street Photography discussion.
9am – Cleveland Street Photography Walk begins.  Shoot what you bring! Follow your group leader around The Gateway district, E. 4th Street, to Public Square
11am – Meet in the Northeast quadrant of Public Square.
11:20am – The Instant Photo Walk/Contest begins.
The grand prize is a beautiful, refurbished folding Polaroid SX70 Sonar courtesy of Leslie Hunsberger in Findlay, Ohio.
Second prize is a Polaroid Automatic Land Camera courtesy of Film Photography Project.
Third prize is an Impossible Project pin set/tote bag courtesy of Aperture.
Bring your instant camera, get film Friday night/Saturday morning, and turn in your ONE best instant photo. Judging will occur during lunch break. Winners announced at the end of the event and your best photo must be turned in by 1:45.
1:45pm – lunch at preferred locations on E. 4th Street/Euclid Ave
3:45pm – Cross Process Walk begins. Load your slide film and make the journey down Euclid Ave towards the Playhouse district. Once your film is exposed, take it out, put it in your envelope and give it to your group leader.
5:30pm – We’ll meet at a quality (hopefully) outdoor bar to announce the Instant contest winners, have some dinner and drinks, and discuss the day.
