Tuesday: Snow Day

Details Regarding the University Closing and Final Exams

Due to the inclement weather, Cleveland State University and the East & West Centers closed today Monday, December 13th at 3 p.m. The University buildings/facilities will remain open until 6 p.m. at which time you will be directed to vacate the premises. However, the Student Center Viking Marketplace will remain open until 10 p.m., and the Student Center itself will remain open until 11 p.m.

Final Exams scheduled to be held after 3 p.m. today, are rescheduled for their same times next Monday, Dec. 20th. Please consult the University academic calendar for final exam scheduled times. This rescheduling of exams does not apply to law school exams. Law students should contact the law school administration regarding the rescheduling of their exams.

Exams scheduled for:

Monday, December 13th 4-6 p.m. will be held on Monday, Dec. 20th at 4-6 p.m.
Monday, December 13th 6-8 p.m. will be held on Monday, Dec. 20th at 6-8 p.m.
Monday, December 13th 8-10 p.m. will be held on Monday, Dec. 20th at 8-10 p.m.

A decision to close the university tomorrow, Tuesday December 14th, is expected to be made by midnight this evening and will be broadcast on the University emergency alert notification systems and posted on the University homepage: www.csuohio.edu

In the event the University is closed on Tuesday, Dec. 14th, final exams scheduled for this date will be held during the same time blocks on Tuesday, Dec. 21st. Please consult the academic calendar for specific times.

If you have not done so already, it is suggested that you sign up for emergency alert notifications by logging into CampusNet and selecting UPDATE from your personal homepage. The emergency alert system can send voice mails to four phone numbers in order of priority, text messages to two mobile devices and e-mails to two separate e-mail accounts in order to provide time sensitive information to the university community at large.

PIEA Photo Competitions (for Students & Faculty)

The Photo Imaging Education Association section of Photo Marketing Association International announces: The 2011 PIEA International Student-Teacher Photo Competition and Exhibition.

As of November 1st, 2010 the 2011 contest has over US$246,000.00 in prizes donated by 53generous sponsors.

The top photographs will be exhibited at the PMA Imaging 2011 Convention in Las Vegas, NV USA September 8-10, 2011. Two 2011 PIEA International Traveling Photo Exhibitions will tour major conventions, schools, colleges and museums for three years in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and Canada. The top prize-winning images will be published in Photo Marketing Magazine.

ART:FILM | FILM:ART

The Diane Kidd Gallery of Tiffin University, in Tiffin, Ohio, seeks artwork that explores the connections between art and film. This may include work used for a film or video, work inspired by a film or video or the movie culture, or other interpretations of the connections. We also seek short original video works that will play on a loop in the gallery for the duration of the show. There will be a special screening night.
