Baby Photographer Wanted

March 30, 2010

No. Not for me…

Lindee, a recent transplant to Cleveland, is looking for a creative photographer to take her son’s 6 month portraits – an easy task if she wanted to use Yellowpages.com and to get the same old standard headshots.  But she’s looking for something more than that.  He’ll only be this little once.  She  thinks young, creative photographic art students may have a fresh prospective on baby portraits (She is willing to pay!).

If you’re interested, email Lindee:  laterflater@yahoo.com

Creative Quarterly: Call for Entries

March 28, 2010

Creative Quarterly is accepting entries for its annual call for entires.  CQ’s competition has a division for students working in photography.  In the past, we’ve had student success.  Most recently, Meghan Fischer was awarded a runner up in student photography.  Last year, Peter Jennings won the Bronze Award (see CSU photo announcement).

Entries are $10 each.  Winner’s work will be reproduced in the magazine and online.

For more information, visit the website: Creative Quarterly: Call for Entries.

Get On It!

March 24, 2010

Due to lack of entries so far, the Student Art Show deadline has been extended.  You may drop off work between 10am – 2pm Thursday, Mar 25.

You’ve been making work, right?  Show it.  Maybe even win some cash or prize for it. CSU photo represent.  If you’re in Photo III, remember your exhibition requirements.

For more info, see earlier CSU photo entry.

Printer / Medium Format Assignment

March 23, 2010

I’m anticipating a big run on the printer this week before your deadline on Friday.  You are to have all your prints finished by the beginning of class.  So far, I haven’t seen much printing.  This worries me.  I’m posting a sign up sheet by the printer.  Make  arrangements to have your prints finished on time.

Minimum size 11″x14″.  Remember to arrange your prints to make best use of the 24″ wide paper (for instance, two vertically oriented 14″x11″ prints side by side for a 22″x 11″ print).

If you’re working in the darkroom, disregard.

Reminder: Student Show Drop Off…

March 22, 2010

See previous CSU photo announcement.
