Animal Protective League Seeks Photo Volunteers

August 29, 2018

A message from the Cleveland Animal Protective League:

Growing Our Animal Photography Team at the Cleveland APL!

As you may already know, a great animal photo can cause adopters to come in to meet their new best friend! It is thanks to our amazing volunteer photographers that our animals are able to put their best paw forward when looking for a new family. In addition, all of the marketing and media content we create uses photos of APL animals—which is courtesy of the amazing photos our photography volunteers take!

If you have a passion for photography and animals, then we invite you to attend our upcoming training for volunteer photographers at the Cleveland APL on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12:30 – 2 p.m. at the Cleveland APL.

Here are some things to consider regarding the assignment.  A volunteer for this assignment must:

  • Possess your own digital photography equipment and editing software.
  • Be able to take candid, quality photographs of our adoptable animals.
  • Have the ability to send photographs in a timely fashion (24-48 hours) via email, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or OneDrive to your supervisor.
  • Have the ability to come in to help on a regular basis.
  • Be age 18 or older.

Brenda Evans, Adoptions & Retail Supervisor, and Carmen Rey, Communications & Social Media Coordinator, will be present for this training.  If you are interested and would like to attend the training, please reply to Danielle Begalla, Volunteer Manager, at dbegalla@clevelandapl.org or 216-377-1627.

Also, if you’d like to learn more about shelter pet photography, the HeART Speak Perfect Exposure Project (PEP) is offering a FREE day-long workshop on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Independence Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.  Here is the link for more information and to register.
