A Summer internship at InterDesign will provide real-world experience in the planning and execution of company strategic goals. This internship will allow the candidate to gain in-depth knowledge of InterDesign products, exposure to global business practices, the ability to work across other departments and leadership training.

Students will gain an understanding of all departments across multiple channels, how product development effects each department differently, and exposure to day-to-day operations of the consumer goods industry.

Requirements

Junior or Senior status, applicants should be pursuing a degree in the related field they are applying

Strong verbal and written skills

Proficient knowledge and utilization of software programs including Word, Excel and general computer abilities

Demonstrates the ability to achieve both personal and professional goal

Must be an analytical thinker, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, and be able to take initiative

Student who is enthusiastic, a quick learner, personable, reliable, and capable of working on their own

Superior PC skills with advanced capabilities in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and web based tools. Experience working with warehouse inventory system preferred.

Cleveland Magazine is looking for motivated and creative photography interns to join our staff for the fall semester.
Photography interns work with art directors to gain experience in product, portrait and food photography. Interns are an integral part of the Cleveland Magazine team, photographing well-established and up-and-coming business owners, chefs, restaurants, shops and products in Cleveland for work published in an award-winning city magazine. Cleveland Magazine crosses several formats, with print, video and digital platforms, and our interns have the opportunity to create content for each of them. Photography interns gain meaningful local connections and meet professional photographers.
Interns will be supervised in duties such as photo research, retouching, color correcting images, resizing images for the web and other supervised photo assignments with Cleveland Magazine. This is a unique internship that blends real professional experience with ongoing, transferrable educational training.
We are looking for energetic and detail-oriented college students working toward a degree in photography to assist our design team. Candidates should have proficient knowledge of digital photography, photo retouching, Adobe Photoshop and own a professional camera. InDesign and Multimedia knowledge a plus. Doing the internship for academic credit is preferred, but not required.

CSU photo Alum’s Real Estate Photos Featured in New York Times

New York Times, our newspaper of record, recently published an article comparing what you get in residential real estate for under $250,000 in three states, including Ohio.

The Ohio house is located in Shaker Heights. Recent CSU photo graduate Austin Cupach made the photographs of the house featured in the article. Austin did an internship with VNTG Home while at CSU. He is now employed as a Marketing/Real Estate Photographer there. He did an amazing job.

Responsibilities:
University Hospitals’ Fine Arts Program was established in 1988 to support the acquisition of art for UH’s public spaces. Twenty-five years later, UH is home to roughly 2,200 original works of art by regional, national and international artist. The collection ranges from works on paper (paintings, drawings and photographs) to ceramics, glass, textiles, and various sculptural media. With the collection, the intent is to foster a comfortable, healing environment for patients and their families, as well as a stimulating workplace for UH’s many employees.

Art Department Associates will assist with general maintenance and management of the art collection. This will include upkeep of artwork currently on display throughout UH’s Main Campus facilities located directly across from Case Western. Associates will assist with bi-monthly exhibitions featured in the Trudy Wiesenberger Gallery, located on Main Campus. Another key responsibility will involve behind-the-scenes collections management. In this capacity, Associates will, for example, assist with: research on artwork and artists, registration, data entry, creating didactics, filing and shipping and receiving.

The Ideal Candidate:
Current enrollment in or recent graduate from a Program in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, Studio Art or related field; curatorial and/or registrar experience; skilled researcher and writer; passion and respect for the arts; advanced visual arts knowledge; good work ethic, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn; efficient filing and data entry skills; keen attention to detail; computer and general technical proficiency; reliable transportation.

Paid Summer Internship @ Cleveland Print Room

This summer internship allows the intern to create video content for the Cleveland Print Room website that documents 35mm film processing (developing & printing), along with alternative photographic processes which will be posted on the internet to inform the public of photography processes that are offered as classes. These videos will be used by the organization for informational, marketing and promotional purposes. The intern will gain experience by providing instructional videos that will be used on digital platforms and social media. S/he will have the opportunity to write content related to the media postings. Additionally the intern will get an overview of what it is like to work within a non-profit start-up and practice everyday workflow and management strategies with the CPR team.

Skills: The intern is a talented videographer with experience shooting and editing video content. Experience with digital and analog photography is a plus. Intern will work with Operations Manager, who is a skilled photographer in creating the photographic content for the videos. Intern will work with the Executive Director, whose background in Marketing and Promotions to release content digitally. The intern will shadow staff so that s/he will experience the inner workings and everyday functions of the organization.

Projects Include:
– Create video content for the Cleveland Print Room to use in marketing materials
– Evaluate what digital and video content the Cleveland Print Room needs
– Film, edit, and prepare footage throughout the course of the summer

Taxel Image Group Seeking Photo Interns

Taxel Image Group offers intern positions for college photography majors coordinated with the winter-spring, summer, and fall-winter terms.

The program is personalized, with a commitment of 10 – 20 hours per week for approximately 15 weeks.

Interns observe and participate in all aspects of the studio operation. Students come from Kent State University, Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland Institute of Art, Case Western Reserve University, Ohio University, and other institutions, meeting the internship requirements of their curriculum.

There is no monetary compensations for this program.

Interviews for the internship are conducted year round. Students who are interested in this program can schedule an appointment by email or phone.

Photography Curatorial Internship@ Cleveland Museum of Art

The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Department of Photography seeks an intern to research works in the collection, particularly recent acquisitions of work by Magnum photographers as well as proposed acquisitions. The intern will also assist in the preparation of temporary exhibitions. For 2017/18, the department’s upcoming exhibitions include one about images of African American life in the 1960s by Louis Draper and Leonard Freed and another about American photography in the 1930s. The intern may assist with the organization of lectures and artists’ visits, work on art and artist research, and help prepare other exhibition or publication related material. The ideal candidate will already have some knowledge of the history of photography and excellent computer research skills. Foreign language skills a plus.

Application Materials: a 500-word essay detailing what you hope to gain from this internship, a résumé that includes employment and education; a writing sample not longer than 3 pages in length, and at least one letter of recommendation.

Ohio Magazine, a publication of Great Lakes Publishing Co., is currently interviewing for a photography intern. The ideal candidate should be entering his/her senior year. We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented individual to assist Ohio Magazine’s art department. The Photography Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in the publication industry, work closely with editors and designers on the magazine and receive college credit by completing photo assignments for publication.

This is an unpaid, part-time internship, however, we reimburse for parking or bus pass and mileage outside of Cuyahoga county. Scheduling and hours are flexible. The intern MUST have reliable transportation to and from work and also to travel in the immediate area to photo shoots.

Retouch and color correct images

Archive files and artwork
Scan images for print
Resize and upload images for the Web
Qualifications:
College student working towards a degree in photography or equivalent field
Knowledge of digital photography and retouching a must
Must own a working professional quality camera
Knowledge of MacOS, Adobe CS2-4, Microsoft Office applications
Must have a reliable form of transportation, as short distance travel will be a part of the internship
Must take direction and assert ideas quickly
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail necessary in order to handle a number of projects simultaneously
Must work well in a deadline driven environment
Design and Web skills a major plus.
